Casa Colomba is a restored property set on the woodland fringes of Orciatico, an ancient hilltop village 400 meters above sea level. The setting is so peaceful.A swimming pool was installed in 2017.There are stunning views over the Tuscan hills towards Pisa, Florence and Volterra. In June it is magical walking up the hill at night from the village seeing all the fire flies.On a good day you can even see the Leaning Tower .Comfortably furnished, the house has many artistic and original features. It has two balconies and terraced seating areas and a fully enclosed garden with patio, lawn and olive trees.Through out the day you can follow the sun all the way around the cottage.There are breathtaking views from all three bedrooms.The field adjoining the property belongs to Casa Colomba .The cottage is spacious ,comfortable and well equipped. There are a large selection of books,DVD's and games.The villlage of Orciatico is a ten minute walk down the hill. There is a local bar that is very reasonably priced. The charming small town of Lajatico is just ten minutes away and it is where Andrea Bocelli holds his concert every year at the Teatro del Silenzio .A lovely place to sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by.

Summary: This is the perfect house to relax and recharge. When the weather is right you have an absolutely breathtaking view and its very quiet. Filippo is extremely friendly and always available if you need any help or assistance locally. The naturally heated pool allows you to take a refreshing dip to cool down on hot summar days. There was really very little to really complain about, or it rather depends on your personal needs. Self check in could be improved with a key box, but we managed to get in, no problem, despite our late arrival. WiFi was really slow, unstable and did not work with latest devices as it is no longer up to date with the security standards, so we mostly used hotspot/tethering instead. Not a big deal for us, but I can imagine that for some guests would be nice to just put a more modern system in place. The equipment in the house is very complete with all appliances you could possibly need like even an oven, barbecue, washing mashine, dishwasher etc, but some things around the kitchen are a bit rustical/heavily used (hanging cabinet doors, hanging washing machine door etc) I can imagine this could be easily fixed with some wood glue and a screwdriver. Some of the dishes/cutlery were not clean when we arrived so had to put it in the dishwasher first. No idea if this was possibly related to previous guests. Other than that, perfect vacation and we'd absolutely come back again if we have the opportunity.
