Anima Monti and Sulle Nuvole are two apartments in the municipality of Sauris in the Carnic Alps of northern Italy. Built by the owner’s great grandfather in the late 19th century, the house has been gently renovated and divided into several holiday homes. Each apartment is designed according to a different theme. The apartments have a similar layout, each with two bedrooms and an open plan living area with fireplace, kitchenette and dining area. Dark slate or wooden floors have been combined with raw stone walls and walls clad in antique wood or waxed plates of sheet metal. The custom-made furniture unites timber and metal and blends in subtly with the interior design. Overall this combination creates a minimalist, modern ambience with the homely appearance of a mountain hut.
