Da visitare anche l"Eremo di Santa Caterina del Sasso e la spiaggia di Cerro di Laveno. Da Laveno partono i traghetti per le varie isole del Lago Maggiore. 10 minuti per raggiungere il lago di Varese con la sua pista ciclabile, il lago di Monate, il lago di Comabbio e il Parco Berrini. Mezz'ora per arrivare a Luino e da lì al parco Giona di Maccagno e poi verso la Svizzera. 40 minuti per raggiungere la cima del Campo dei Fiori e Il Sacro Monte ma molto prima intorno tra Orino e Luvinate vi sono i sentieri vari all'interno del Parco del Campo dei Fiori.
Varese è inoltre ricca di bellissime ville antiche.
