The village stands on a hill at the foot of Mount Petrarvella (641 m asl) in the Roman Val di Chiana, located between the valley of Lake Trasimeno and the valley of the Nestòre river.

The town is famous for its historical monuments, first of all the church of San Sebastiano, inside which you can admire the Martyrdom of San Sebastiano by Pietro Vannucci, called the Perugino.
