The saltino is located inside Vallombrosa and the famous Abbey founded in 1036 by San Giovanni Gualberto. Over time, the Abbey was enlarged several times, especially in the 16th century, during the Medici period in Florence. Numerous famous architects worked on it to make it a monumental Abbey. The Abbey being inside the grandiose forest, where an important forest arboretum was also planted, always the subject of guided visits. The Abbey has always been a place of recollection and spirituality, so much so that the writer John Milton built a Villa "Il Paradisino" above the Abbey in the 17th century, where he drew inspiration to write the famous poem "The Paradise Lost" . This has become a tourist destination that can be reached starting from the Abbey with a very suggestive route. Very cool place (1000 m.
