The Tower is in High Sabina, about 70 km from Roma, 30 from Rieti and 500 metres from the nearest village, called Oliveto, which rises close to a 16th century castle.
The tower is set on the top of a hill surrounded by a vast panorama where hills and valleys are covered by woods and olive trees; in distance you can admire the mount Terminillo 2200 m high.
Built in the Middle Eve, the tower was functional to the control and defence of the ancient Roman Consular road, called Salaria; in the 18th century it was transformed into a sort of post-office from where pigeons were sent with secret messages to Rome.
Presently it has been restored with all modern facilities and is in the very middle of a large property where olive trees are cultivated and delicious oil is produced.
