The holiday house is in the centre of Motta San Giovanni. It is flooded with daylight and affords a fabulous panoramic view of the hills, the Messina strait and Etna. The nearest beaches are just a few kilometres away.
You have free access to the whole house, which is on two floors. The ground floor measures 50m² and has a living room, dining room, satellite TV and a stereo system. Next to it there is a little bedroom with a sofa bed (140cm wide) and a big bathroom with a shower, washbasin, WC, bidet and washing machine. The first floor also measures 50m² and has two double bedrooms (bed width 180cm) and a little living room with a sofa bed (width 140cm) and a balcony with a view of the valley. Right next to the living room there is a little bathroom with a shower, WC, bidet and washbasin. The kitchen has a dining table for four people, a four-ring gas hob, oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and a big panoramic window. The house can accommodate a total of four to six people. The house does not have central heating, but electric radiators are available if required on colder days in spring and autumn. At present there is no Internet connection.
The big terrace on the top floor measures around 50m² and is fully furnished with a seating group with a dining table for six people for al fresco dining, a little barbecue, wicker chairs with cushions and two comfortable loungers for sunbathing. An awning and roofing provide shade. At ground level there is a little enclosed garden of around 30m² with a terrace and Mediterranean plants. Many trees provide natural shade and a cosy spot in the hammock. It is about 100 metres from the house to a free public car park (not monitored).
There is a grocery shop nearby and just a few hundred metres further you can find a butcher, bakery, fruit and vegetable stall, several bars and a post office. Motta San Giovanni is an original mountain village without any noteworthy tourism, about 24km from Reggio Calabria and 6km from the coast, not far from the Messina strait. It is easy to get to beautiful sandy beaches or rocky bays (e.g. Lazzaro or Capo d’Armi), including some beaches with sun lounger hire, but most are free and never overcrowded. On request it is also possible to arrange guided tours through the Aspromonte park. You can get to Motta San Giovanni along the motorway and the SS106 national road, or from the Reggio Calabria airport (10km) or Lamezia Terme (150km), where there are also rental cars. The locality is also connected to the local public transport system (bus and train).
