Second floor apartment. Its main feature was the original floor that was found in the structure; obviously it's not perfect but, in our opinion, it's beautiful. It has been scrupulously cleaned and restored without removing, however, all the imperfections that characterize it. Another peculiarity of the apartment is the presence, in the living room / kitchen area, of a small mezzanine. Before the renovation, there were no stairs to climb that are now there but a small "climb". In the old structure this room was the granary.
It is a rather large apartment consisting of a living room with kitchen, 2 large bedrooms (one single and one double) and 2 bathrooms (one for the exclusive use of the master bedroom).
Independent entrance.
To reach the entrance of the apartment you need to go up a small flight of external and internal stairs.
The kitchen is equipped with everything needed for cooking (pots, lids, utensils, etc.) and for eating (plates, cutlery, glasses, etc.)
The bathrooms are both equipped with all normal facilities. Inside a bathroom there is the washing machine.
In the living room there are two comfortable armchairs and a wood-burning fireplace that can be safely used. Woods are available for guests and are located outside the structure. In the small loft of the living room, two armchairs and a lamp have been placed. We liked seeing it as an alternative space to read a good book and see the living room from above.
In the apartment there is free wifi internet connection, available to guests.
There is no air conditioning because it is not needed. The large walls ensure a pleasantly (and naturally) cool temperature.
From the windows there is a splendid view of Mount Amiata and the fields and woods surrounding the farmhouse.
The structure is entirely surrounded by greenery. Outside there is a charcoal barbecue (charcoal is available to guests) and a brazier. There are tables outside for eating. In the evening, the external lighting switches on automatically. There are deck chairs to relax with a good book or maybe soak up some sun. La Piaggia farmhouse is the ideal place for those who love walking or cycling. From here it is easy to reach, on foot or by bike, the Ermicciolo park where you can visit the sources of the Vivo, but also the Hermitage of the Vivo.
It is also in an excellent position to visit the entire Valdorcia (Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena, etc. are just a few kilometers away).
N.b .: For hygienic reasons we do not supply condiments (oil, salt, etc.) or coffee and tea.
N.b .: the services provided by the apartment are well described. In particular, I would like to emphasize that there is a mocha and there is no coffee machine with pods. The apartment is rustic. It is a farmhouse.
